Schooner Adirondack | New York, NY
Classic Harbor Line NYC couldn’t be prouder to operate this elegant, white-hulled, 80-foot, 1890s-style pilot schooner – the original in the Classic Harbor Line fleet! Schooner Adirondack has been a gem in New York Harbor since 1999. Schooner Adirondack features seating for up to 49 guests, teak decks, and impressive mahogany trim. The boat can accommodate a variety of food and bar packages and has a marine restroom onboard. Schooner Adirondack is one of the fastest resident sailboats in New York Harbor. She held the record finish in the Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race for 12 consecutive years and continues to demonstrate speed and a thrilling ride for her guests in New York Harbor. The Schooner Adirondack runs an 8-month season in NYC starting in April and ending in November.

Schooner Adirondack II | Boston, MA
The Adirondack II is a gaff-rigged schooner with a wooden hull, and was completed by Scarano Boat Building in Albany, NY. Schooner Adirondack II was completed in 1999, and was brought to Newport Harbor when the original Schooner Adirondack departed Newport to begin operating out of Chelsea Piers in New York City. She is Coast Guard certified for 57 guests. Her masts reach over 70 feet above deck and has just under 2000 square feet of sail area. She is 65 feet on deck, 80 feet overall, and has a draft of 7 feet. On a high wind day, it is not uncommon for her to reach 10 knots under sail. She is a very lively and fast vessel, and all of her captains feel that she is an absolute dream to operate!

Schooner Adirondack III | Boston, MA
Adirondack III was designed and constructed specifically for carrying passengers comfortably, which is uncommon for historic schooners. Due to the modern and innovative design of Adirondack III, guests will have room to sit and move around the boat. Adirondack III measures 80 feet in length overall with a 16-foot beam. Her lines are modeled after 1890s style pilot schooners. Adirondack III is long and lean with a spoon bow, which helps her ply through the waters more effortlessly than the average schooner. An all-wooden vessel with a white glass overlay hull, Adirondack III is quite easy to pick out amongst her fellow schooners with her smooth clean lines. When you step aboard Adirondack III you’ll notice her clean teak decks and brilliantly varnished mahogany rails. When your focus takes to the sky above you, you will find two towering Douglas Fir masts and nearly 2,000 square feet of sail stretching to the sky.

Schooner Adirondack IV | Newport, RI
The Schooner Adirondack IV is the newest of the Scarano boats. She arrived in Newport of 2025. Built at the Scarano Yard in Albany, NY. She is a knockabout schooner. She has a traditional double gaff-rig, a design which can be reefed or shortened easily as well as handled by just two crew and a captain. The great extended cockpit design, built with guests in mind, is borrowed from the ADK II design and is perfect for public trips and private charters alike. The spars are carbon fiber, one of the many innovations from a traditional wooden sailboat in favor of utilizing modern technology. It will only take two people to raise the 1,400’ mainsail by hand multiple times a day. She has twin engines that will help navigate the tight docking quarters at Bowen’s Wharf, as well as provide redundancy. The schooner Adirondack IV was built, practically, for a specific dock on Bowen’s Wharf in Newport, RI where she operates commercially. At 88’ in length she is a blend of the traditional and the modern, built by a designer and a yard that loves classic wooden boats, and is also excited by the possibilities of new technology and loves introducing people to sailing.
